FANTASY
The main focus of my books is strong fantasy, and that hasn't changed. In fact, as we travel to meet a society of dragons, I come to wonder if it can get much more fantastical. Dragons may well outnumber humans in this book, unlike in previous ones. Some new layers are added to the fantasy of the stories, as well, as we learn more about the dragons and how they live. The wild dragons bring to the story new abilities, history, and power. They are nothing to be trifled with, as Morrigan and the others quickly discover.
ADVENTURE
There is adventure to be had, though this third installment relies a bit more heavily than previous ones on the adventure of discovering secrets and learning about others. Morrigan and the others are in trouble, no doubt, as they join a society of people on the brink of extinction, and they're challenged in a race against time to save both themselves and those around them. Additionally, there's one character who sort of got left behind, but who has chosen for herself an adventure dangerous enough to rival anything Morrigan might be facing. When the Lady of Wost is involved, every moment is a risk.
MYSTERY
I knew I wanted to write a mystery and make my readers think and ponder. There are definitely mysteries to be unraveled, both within the range of this book, and across the entire series. After all, there are certainly many things we don't know about various people and places: some of which hold secrets both dangerous and delightful. Keep your eyes open and make your theories, and prepare for a mysterious journey.
